What is Rotary?  "Service Above Self"

Founded in 1905, Rotary is the world's first service organization. Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide, who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help to build goodwill and peace in the world.

Rotary is a global network of over 1.2 million members in more than 30,000 clubs in over 160 countries.  Rotary members meet weekly to plan service activities.  Each club is autonomous and has the right to determine its own service projects based on the needs of the community and the interests and abilities of its membership.

Rotary Clubs are non-governmental non-sectarian, and open to every race, culture, gender, age, and creed.  Club membership represents a cross-section of local business and professional leaders.

Rotary Clubs carry out a variety of service projects that address critical issues including poverty, hunger, illiteracy, substance abuse and pollution.

"Rotary has the ability to organize campaigns to mobilize support for some of the worthiest causes that exist, and that makes Rotary a precious resource."

 - Kofi Annan, former  Secretary-General of              the United Nations
